Research first
Look beyond the front of the bag. Read dimensions, materials, and ingredients.
The PurePiggy story
PurePiggy started with one observation: too many products marketed to guinea pigs are not designed around what guinea pigs actually need.

Healthy choices. Natural curiosity. Happier herds.
From the first project notes
The first PurePiggy site was created with GoDaddy for an Invention Convention project. The research began with everyday problems: colorful food with added sugar, chew toys made with mystery glue, metal hay racks that can trap heads, and cages that leave almost no room to run.
The solution was a care guide, a shortlist of better products, and a welcoming place where new piggy families could learn without feeling overwhelmed.
What stays the same
PurePiggy can grow into a useful resource without losing the young, curious voice that started it.
Look beyond the front of the bag. Read dimensions, materials, and ingredients.
A recommendation is only useful when a family understands what problem it solves.
Use honest language that kids can understand and grown-ups can trust.
Choose products around natural needs: forage, hide, chew, roam, rest, and socialize.

Still on the dream board
The original project imagined making custom cage liners and launching a guinea pig podcast. This rebuild creates the foundation: a strong editorial voice, a transparent recommendation system, and an affiliate-ready catalog that can support more original PurePiggy work over time.
